Can you make money with Roblox videos and AI voices?

We investigated how much Roblox channels with AI-generated voices really earn, the COPPA nuance that can save you or sink you depending on your real audience, and the USD 53,088 per-violation fine almost nobody mentions.

Can you make money with Roblox videos and AI voices?

In the previous article about AI cartoons for kids' audiences, we covered the hidden COPPA tax. Roblox with AI voices is the format that comes closest to that exact same problem — with an important nuance that can change the whole calculation depending on who the channel actually targets.

What the format is

A real-time AI voice changer is used during Roblox play sessions (tools like Voicemod or Dubbing AI offer hundreds of character voices), and the best moments get cut into shorts for YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. There's also a variant that skips live play entirely: taking someone else's or generic gameplay and laying an AI-voiced narrated script over it — stories, game rumors, reaction compilations.

How much money you can actually make

Just like in the animation article, the data quality here is weak — the figures circulating (USD 10,000 a month, even "USD 100,000 with AI" in some Medium titles) almost always come from people selling courses on how to do it, not from independently verified reports. Treat them as an optimistic scale reference, not a promise.

The COPPA nuance that can save you or sink you

The "Made for Kids" designation is legally mandatory if the content is "clearly directed at children under 13" — it's not optional, and it doesn't depend on whether the creator wants to mark it that way. That's where the nuance lives: Roblox has a real kids audience, but also a real teen and young-adult audience consuming the game with more of a meme, commentary, or "this game is cursed" angle — a channel of that second type has a much stronger case for avoiding the strict designation than one that directly shows young kids playing.

If it falls under "Made for Kids," you lose Super Chat, Super Stickers, channel memberships, end screens, cards, and personalized ads — RPM drops to USD 1-3 versus USD 5-15 for general content, the same cut we already saw with AI kids' cartoons. One point in your favor: YouTube Shorts do get revenue sharing even on "Made for Kids" channels — one of the few native monetization paths still available, and it fits neatly with the short-clip format that dominates this niche.

The fine almost nobody mentions

COPPA isn't just a lower-RPM problem: it's US federal law, with a civil penalty of up to USD 53,088 per violation (2025 figure). It's not a theoretical risk — it's a real fine for failing to properly label content directed at minors.

Tools for this format

  • Voicemod: real-time AI voice changer, free in its basic version, integrates directly with Roblox's voice chat.
  • Dubbing AI: 500+ character/celebrity voices, built specifically for this use case.

The same old risk: inauthentic content

Beyond the COPPA issue, the same rule from the rest of the series applies: generic, repetitive clips at mass volume with no real variation fall under YouTube's inauthentic content policy.

So, is it worth it?

It's a format with real audience demand, but with two regulatory risks stacked on top of each other that don't exist in the earlier formats in this series: the mandatory COPPA designation (with a real fine, not just lower RPM) and the inauthentic content policy. Clearly defining who the channel actually targets — young kids versus a teen/meme audience — before uploading the first video isn't a minor legal detail, it's the decision that determines whether the business is viable at all.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much can you earn with a Roblox channel using AI voices?+

The figures circulating (USD 10,000 to 100,000 a month) almost always come from people selling courses, with no independent verification. Treat them as an optimistic reference, not a promise.

Does a Roblox channel always fall under the "Made for Kids" designation?+

Not always. The law requires that label only if the content is clearly directed at children under 13. A channel with a meme/commentary angle for a teen audience has a stronger case for avoiding that designation than one directly showing young kids playing.

What happens if I don't correctly label a kids' channel as "Made for Kids"?+

It's a violation of the US federal COPPA law, with a civil penalty of up to USD 53,088 per violation (2025 figure) — it's not just a lower-RPM issue, it's a real legal fine.

Do YouTube Shorts pay less if the channel is marked "Made for Kids"?+

Shorts do get revenue sharing even on channels marked that way, unlike other sources (Super Chat, memberships) that are lost entirely. It's one of the few native monetization paths still available.
